Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

How to pronounce my name:

I am a third-year graduate student in the philosophy department at OSU. My research interests center on the nature of positive and negative experiences, such as the discomfort of pain, the pleasure of drinking fine wine, or the enjoyment of reading a good book. In particular, I explore how these experiences can motivate and justify our actions, guiding us to either end or prolong certain states of affairs based on how they feel.

I have written on topics such as fictional ontology, AI ethics, and the nature of unpleasant pain. My papers have been published in journals like Ergo, Philosophy & Technology, and Analysis. You can find them on my PhilPeople page: https://philpeople.org/profiles/inchul-yum.
