Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

2.4.1 Timeliness

Scheduling. Students are expected to complete all course number and distribution requirements before the end of their sixth semester in full-time graduate study. Students must petition the Graduate Committee for an extension in exceptional cases.

During the first two years in the program, students are required to be enrolled in 3 graduate courses per semester if on TA-ship, and 4 such courses if on fellowship, until all course number and distribution requirements are completed.  These courses must be offered by the Philosophy Department, or those approved in advance by its Graduate Committee.  Reading courses (5193) do not count for this without explicit approval from the Graduate Committee.
