Pincock, Shapiro and Tennant all speak at nearby Philosophy of Mathematics conference

Earlier this month, Professors Pincock, Shapiro and Tennant each delivered papers at a joint meeting of two Philosophy of Mathematics associations held at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Pincock was a keynote speaker at the Second International Meeting of the Association for the Philosophy of Mathematical Practice. His talk was entitled "Felix Klein as a Prototype for the Philosophy of Mathematical Practice." Shapiro and Tennant gave talks at the Fourteenth Annual Midwest Philosophy of Mathematics Workshop, which took place during the two days following the APMP conference. Their talks were entitled "An Aristotelian theory of the continuum" and "What are the reals, really?", respectively. Graduate students Teresa Kouri, Giorgio Sbardolini, Matt Souba, Erik Wedin, and recent graduate Patrick Reeder went along for the fun.
