Philosophy Club Celebrates 125 Years

Display case outside of philosophy department

The Philosophy Club is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year, marking more than a century of student involvement and intellectual life within the department. The club recently received a collection of historical materials donated by the daughter of the club’s president from 1934. The materials provide a window into the organization’s earlier years and offer insight into how past students participated in and shaped the club.

Current club officers spent many hours reviewing the collection, organizing the materials, and selecting items that reflect key moments in the club’s history. Their goal was to create a display that highlights the organization’s long-standing presence while making its history accessible to the department community.

The exhibit is now available for viewing in the display case outside of 350 University Hall. Students, faculty, and visitors are encouraged to stop by and take a look at this snapshot of the club’s past.

Thank you to Bella Gourno, Mallory Huffman, Tabitha Skelding, and Jonas Watkins for their time and effort in organizing and preparing the exhibit.
