Julia Jorati reports:
This June, the department hosted its first philosophy summer camp for high school students. 23 students from a wide range of local high schools participated in one of the two 5-day sessions on the topic “Rights and Liberty." Jamie Fritz, Lavender McKittrick-Sweitzer, and Julia Jorati were the primary instructors. Highlights of the camp included a poster project, two formal debates, a trip to the Cartoon Library, a movie screening, a scavenger hunt, and guest lectures by several OSU philosophers: Justin D’Arms, Corey Katz, Eric MacGilvray, Tristram McPherson, Amy Shuster, Evan Thomas, and Piers Turner. The summer camp was co-sponsored by the CEHV.
