The OSU Philosophy Department hosted the 2017 Midwest Seminar in Modern Philosophy on October 20–22. Nine external speakers presented papers on a wide range of figures and topics, sparking lively discussions that often spilled over into the breaks. The conference was bookended by two OSU alumni: Edward Slowik (Winona State) and Dai Heide (SFU). The other speakers were Domenica Romagni (Princeton), Simon Shogry (Oxford), Justin Steinberg (CUNY), John Grey (Michigan State), Andrea Guardo (Wisconsin-Madison), Lauren Kopajtic (Columbia), and Bennett McNulty (University of Minnesota).
