The Department of Philosophy congratulates Donald Soles Jr., who successfully defended his dissertation in April and will soon receive his Ph.D. in Philosophy from The Ohio State University.

Donald Soles Jr. has defended his dissertation, "Norms of Inquiry." Present at the defense were Professors Justin D'Arms, Tristram McPherson, Declan Smithies, Jeremy Fantl, and Jane Friedman.

Donny’s dissertation explored the norms of inquiry. His work was praised by Professor Friedman, a leading figure in the epistemology of inquiry, and by Professor Fantl, the department’s new O’Donnell Chair in Philosophy.

The department celebrates Donny’s achievement and looks forward to the next steps in his academic journey.
