Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

My primary research interests are concerned with the ethical and political dimensions of various ethical traditions including both Aristotelian and Stoic forms of virtue ethics, as well as ethics in the Confucian tradition. I'm also interested in problems in moral psychology, such as moral motivation and the degree to which sentiments and intellect inform our moral practices. At the moment, I'm particularly interested in exploring potential overlaps between the ethics and political thought of the Stoic tradition and anarchist political theory.
