Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

How to pronounce my name:

Jacob Caldwell

My work connects phenomenology, agency, and psychiatric disorders. In particular, I am focused on the nature of compulsive behavior (e.g. addiction and obsessive-compulsive disorder) and the phenomenology of compulsivity. Where possible, I employ the work of historical philosophers such as Plato, Kant, and Heidegger to contemporary philosophical issues.

Topics of secondary yet considerable philosophical interest to me include aesthetics (especially Kant's) and existentialism.

I'm also a professional cheesemonger! Please direct your cheese-related questions to me.
