Welcome to Tristram McPherson and Amy Shuster, who will be joining the philosophy department in fall 2015. They will be moving here with their son, Finn, from their current positions at Virginia Tech.

Tristram McPherson will be joining us as Associate Professor. He received his B.A. in Philosophy from Simon Fraser University in 2003 and his Ph.D. in Philosophy from Princeton University in 2008. He has been an Assistant Professor in Philosophy at Virginia Tech and the University of Minnesota, Duluth and a Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne. He works on a wide range of issues in ethics and meta-ethics. You can read more about his research here.

Amy Shuster will be joining us as Visiting Assistant Professor. She received her B.S. in Foreign Service from Georgetown University in 1997 and her Ph.D. in Politics from Princeton in 2009. She has been a Visiting Assistant Professor of Political Science at Virginia Tech, Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of Minnesota, Duluth, and a Post-Doctoral Fellow in the Writing Program at Princeton. Amy works on issues at the intersection of ancient political philosophy and contemporary political theory. You can read more about her research here.
