My primary research interests lie in social metaphysics. I am particularly concerned with how social and political factors impact the nature of our mental health concepts. I am currently working on a dissertation project where I argue that stigmatization is a necessary component of our current mental disorder concept. This stigmatization leads to a variety of social injustices against persons with mental disorders. As such, if we wish to engage in the project of ameliorating injustice where it occurs, then we are in need of mental health concepts that are different from the ones we currently employ.
